Delhi: In the fifth match of the Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan decided to bat first and the entire team was all out for 241 runs in 49.4 overs. Pakistan’s innings did not start strong, and the Indian bowlers kept pressure from time to time with wickets.

Pakistan’s weak batting

Pakistan captain Babar Azam (23) and Imam-ul-Haq (10) returned to the pavilion early. Babur was caught by Hardik Pandya by wicketkeeper KL Rahul and sent to the pavilion, while Imam was run out by Akshar Patel. These initial wickets stagnated Pakistan’s innings, but still the only good partnership for the team was formed between Saud Shakeel (62) and Mohammad Rizwan (46). Together these two tried to make the team a score, but the Indian bowlers kept constant pressure. Both scored runs but the pace of scoring runs was very slow.

Hardik Pandya took two and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets, while Akshar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja also broke the middle order of Pakistan with their brilliant bowling. Jadeja and Kuldeep dismissed Salman Aga (19) and Shaheen Afridi (0), while Kuldeep also sent Nasim Shah (14), Shaheen Afridi (0) and Khishadil Shah (38) to the pavilion.

Pakistan confined to 241 runs

Pakistan’s team finally was reduced to 241 runs, of which the biggest role was that of all the bowlers of India. While Shami gave a great start, Pandya, Jadeja, and Kuldeep stopped the middle order of Pakistan from scoring completely and took wickets.

India’s bowlers performed tremendously and now India should not have any special problem in chasing this score of 242 runs. Pakistan needs to improve its bowling to move forward.
