Delhi: The second semi -final of the ICC Champions Trophy (ICC Champions Trophy 2025) was played between South Africa and New Zealand at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, in which the Kiwi team won by 50 runs and entered the finals. Now New Zealand will compete with India in Dubai on March 9. Both teams will once again face face to face in the final of the Champions Trophy after 25 years.
New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and decided to bat first. The Kiwi team scored 362 runs losing 5 wickets in 50 overs. Rachin Ravindra (108) and Kane Williamson (102) scored a brilliant century, while Glenn Philips scored 49 runs in 27 balls.
In bowling, Lungi Angidi took 3 wickets for South Africa and Kagiso Rabada took 2 wickets. In response, South Africa’s team could only manage 312 runs in 50 overs at the loss of 9 wickets. David Miller played an unbeaten 100* run innings in 67 balls, but he could not reach his team to win.
For New Zealand, Mitchell Santner took 3 wickets, while Matt Henry and Glenn Philips took 2–2 wickets. Apart from this, Michael Bracewell and Rachin Ravindra got 1-1 success.
