Delhi: Before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have suffered a major setback. LSG fast bowler Mayank Yadav is out of the first half of IPL 2025. According to the report of ISPN Cricinfo, Mayank is currently recovering from a back injury (Lumber Stress Injury). He has recently resumed bowling at the Center of Excellence of BCCI located in Bengaluru, where his rehabilitation is going on. He was injured during the T20 series against Bangladesh in October last year.
Big shock for lsg
LSG retained Mayank Yadav for Rs 11 crore before the IPL 2025 auction. His biggest feature is his speed of more than 150 km per hour. In his first two matches in the IPL, he won the Man of the Match Award, which shows his ability.
In the previous season (IPL 2024), he also struggled with injury and only four matches could play. Due to the problem of his side strain, he could not perform effectively in the last two matches of the season. In October last year, he was injured during the T20 series against Bangladesh.
LSG team director Zaheer Khan had said that the team is working on Mayank’s recovery with the BCCI medical team. However, the BCCI has not yet set a fixed date for their return, but there is a possibility of their playing in the second half of IPL 2025. This will depend on their fitness test and increase in bowling load.
