Delhi: After Team India’s wonderful performance in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, captain Rohit Sharma said that the future of Indian cricket is in safe hands. He said that there are many young players in the team, who are demonstrating necessary hunger, passion and talent at the international level.

In India’s title campaign, Shubman Gill (188 runs with a century in five matches), Shreyas Iyer (243 runs with two fifties in five matches), Akshar Patel (109 runs in five matches and five wickets), Hardik Pandya (99 runs in four matches and four wickets), KL Rahul (140.00 runs in five matches) and 140.00 players played a significant role. All these contributed to the team’s white-ball title win for the second consecutive time.

When he was asked whether the Indian team could dominate international cricket in the coming decade, he told that the team has been prepared keeping in mind the development of young talent.

In a conversation with the ICC, Rohit said, “This is the most important thing, when you are playing, it is necessary to strengthen your bench strength. Whenever we got a chance in the last four-five years, we gave a chance to the young players and they took full advantage of this opportunity. ”

He also informed that young players are performing brilliantly in all the formats, due to which there are many discussions about team selection. He said, “When the question arises, who should be included in the playing XI and who is not, it shows how strong and balanced our team is.”
