Delhi: After the successful organization of ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan is now going to host another big ICC tournament. The ICC has announced the schedule of the Women’s ODI World Cup qualifier. The tournament will be played in two Lahore grounds (Gaddafi Stadium and LCCA Ground) from 9 April to 19 April. 6 teams will participate in this competition, out of which two teams will qualify for the main World Cup to be held in India in October-November.

Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and hosts India have already qualified for the World Cup directly in the top 6 in the ICC Women’s Championship (2022-25).

Which teams will play?

Apart from four full member countries (Bangladesh, Ireland, Pakistan and West Indies), teams of Associate countries (Scotland and Thailand) will participate in the Women’s ODI World Cup qualifier. A total of 15 matches will be played in the tournament. Bangladesh, Ireland, Pakistan and West Indies have reached the qualifier due to the seventh to tenth position in the ICC Women’s Championships, while Thailand and Scotland have made it to the tournament by securing the highest position in the ICC women’s ODI team rankings till 28 October 2024.
