Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made a banging debut by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 7 wickets in their first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025). In this victory, half -centuries by KKR openers Phil Soult (56) and Virat Kohli (59) played a key role, but the player of the match title was named after star all -rounder Krunal Pandya.
The left -handed spinner took 3 important wickets for 29 runs in his 4 overs, which at one time was reduced to 174 runs, moving towards a big score.
After the match, Krunal Pandya said about his performance, “It is not easy to focus on many audiences. Shots were also shots against me on some good balls, but I am happy that the team could contribute to the team. Cricket is constantly changing, batsmen have the ability to hit six on every ball, so the bowlers have to bring newness in their game. I also tried to change my bowling.”
Krunal said about his thrown bouncer, “Now Jitesh (wicketkeeper) understands what I am going to do. They know whether it will be a yorker or a bouncer, when you have such a weapon, you must use it.”
Krunal expressed his happiness about playing for RCB. He said, “This experience has been fantastic, when I came to the team, I realized how fun it is here. Fans here also support tremendous support in domestic matches. The slogans of ‘RCB-RCB’ were echoing everywhere. It has been ten years since I have been connected in IPL and this time it was a very special experience for me to join RCB.”
