Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) mesmerized cricket lovers by performing tremendously in their first match of IPL 2025. The SRH batsmen won the hearts of the audience of Hyderabad once again with their strong hitting. Sunrisers batsmen attacked Rajasthan Royals (RR) bowlers and scored their team’s second highest score in IPL history. Hyderabad scored 286 runs while batting first, which was just one run from his own record, which he scored against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2024.
Kishan’s brilliant century innings
SRH’s brilliant innings was led by Ishan Kishan, who played 106 runs off 67 balls. Hyderabad’s innings included 34 fours and 12 sixes, which led to trouble in Rajasthan. Apart from this, Travis Head showed his aggressive batting by scoring 67 runs in 31 balls. Henry Klassen (34 runs in 14 balls) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (30 in 15 balls) also led to a fire in the middle overs and took Sunrisers to a strong score.
Hyderabad captain shocked
SRH captain Pat Cummins expressed his surprise over the team’s explosive batting. He said after the match, “It was incredible. We score more than 280 runs, and it is scary. When you have such a big score, one over can win the match for your team. Today Ishan Kishan’s performance was fantastic. Our preparation was excellent, and our coaches were also fantastic. Everyone was fit and ready.”
Captain Ryan Parag’s statement
In this match, Rajasthan captain Ryan Parag regretted his team’s defeat. He said, “It was as difficult as I thought. SRH is credited, but we should have performed better. We will sit and discuss this match. (First the decision to bowl) I think it was a collective decision and the right decision, but we should have implemented it better. If 280 runs are on the board, you have to accept it.”
Parag further said, “I expected 200 runs in the first toss, but the target of 220-240 runs would have been good. There are many positive aspects, such as Dhruv and Sanju’s performance was fantastic, and then the performance of Hetty and Shivam was also good. Tushar bowled brilliantly, and Sandy Paaji also did well. Win or lose, we learn from it and then forget it.”
SRH defeated RR by 44 runs
After this tremendous batting, RR struggled in a counter -innings, but finally lost by 44 runs. Although Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurlel made a challenge against SRH by creating a fifty, their hard work failed in the end.
