Delhi: Delhi Capitals (DC) young batsman Ashutosh Sharma once again showed his light in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He performed a tremendous performance against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and gave his team an exciting win by one wicket. The right -handed batsman scored an unbeaten 66* runs off 31 balls, including five fours and five sixes. His innings snatched the victory from Lucknow’s mouth.
Ashutosh became the hero of Delhi’s victory
Batting first after losing the toss in this match played in Visakhapatnam, Lucknow scored 209 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs with the help of Nicholas Puran and Mitchell Marsh’s brilliant innings (both of them), in response to which Delhi started poor and lost 5 wickets for 65 runs.
In this difficult time, Ashutosh, who came as an impact player, changed the attitude of the match with his innings. He shared a 55 -run partnership for the seventh wicket with Vipraj Nigam. However, wickets continued to fall from the other end, but Ashutosh stood up to the end and won Delhi by hitting a six.
Was also shown for Punjab
Earlier, Ashutosh Sharma was part of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and he did the same against the Gujarat Titans (GT) last season. In that match too, he landed as an impact player and gave Punjab victory with Shashank Singh. However, Punjab did not retain him this season, after which Delhi Capitals included him in his team.
Struggle to become cricketer
Born on 15 September 1998 in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, Ashutosh was a cricket crazy since childhood. He has been a big fan of Indian wicketkeeper Naman Ojha. He did his schooling in Indore and made his debut for Madhya Pradesh. However, after Chandrakant Pandit became coach in 2020, he had to be out of the team.
Coach Bhupen Chauhan became his biggest support in this difficult period, but in 2023, when he lost his coach, he decided to play with the railway team. During this time, former India wicketkeeper Naman Ojha encouraged him and today the same Ashutosh has emerged as the hero of the victory of Delhi Capitals.
