Experience Indian batsman Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli will be a part of A+ grade in the 2024-25 Central Contract of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) despite being away from T20I cricket. Middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer was out of the Central Contract of BCCI in the 2023-24 cycle but is expected to return to his contract once again.
According to media reports, BCCI is preparing to retain Virat and Rohit in A Plus grade, under which they will get Rs 7 crore despite retiring from T20 Eyeuts. Rohit and Virat took retirement in this format after ending the drought of India’s ICC Trophy by winning the T20 World Cup in Barbados last year.
BCCI sources said, “Rohit and Virat will continue their A grade central contract (Rs 7 crore) even after retiring from the T20I format. He is a big player and will be given the honor he deserves. Shreyas Iyer’s central contract is certain.”
Shreyas will return, Ishaan may have to wait
On the other end Shreyas Iyer And Ishaan Kishan was excluded from BCCI’s central contract list. Since then, Shreyas has worked hard in the domestic circuit of India and showcased great form. In his last Ranji Trophy campaign, Shreyas scored 480 runs for Mumbai in five matches at an average of 68.57 and a strike rate of 90.22.

He also performed his great form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 325 runs in five matches at an excellent average of 325.00. He was part of the team winning the Champions Trophy of India in February and ended as the country’s leading run-scorer in the tournament scoring 243 runs in five matches.
