Sediqullah’s first ODI century

Sediqullah Atal laid the foundation of the team’s victory with his first ODI century. After this, Fazalhaq Farooqui, Azmatullah Omarzai, Allah Ghazanfar and Navid Zadran troubled the Zimbabwean batsmen. With this victory, Afghanistan has taken a 1-0 lead in the series. The last ODI will be played in Harare on 21 December.

Partnership of 191 runs for the first wicket

Batting first, Afghanistan scored 286 runs. Atal and Abdul Malik made a brilliant partnership of 191 runs for the first wicket. Malik was out after scoring 84 runs, while Atal scored 104 runs in 128 balls with the help of eight fours and four sixes. Hashmatullah Shahidi also played an important inning of 29 runs. For Zimbabwe, Nyamahuri took three wickets and Trevor Gwandu took two, although they conceded 70 runs.

Zimbabwe restricted to just 54 runs
