Delhi: Rohit Sharma’s performance against fast bowlers in Test cricket is continuously deteriorating. In the fourth Test of the India vs Australia series, he lost his wicket with a half-hearted shot off Pat Cummins. Scott Boland took an easy catch on the short ball and sent him to the pavilion. The Indian captain was out after scoring only 3 runs, due to which his poor performance continued.

Total 22 runs in 4 innings
After three ordinary innings, Rohit promoted himself up the batting order, but this move also proved unsuccessful. Rohit was brought back to the top order by removing Shubman Gill, but this too was of no use. Captain Rohit was out after scoring just 3 runs in 5 balls. Earlier, in the two matches, Rohit scored 3, 6 and 10 runs while batting at number six. Even against PM XI he could score only 3 runs.

Rohit’s performance in the last eight Test matches has been quite disappointing. His batting is not able to stand against the fast bowlers of Bangladesh, New Zealand and Australia. He was in good form in the home series against England this year, but since then he has been losing his wickets easily.
Showed good form in press conference
After the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, when he was asked about his form, he did not take it seriously. He said, “I am in form because I am feeling good from inside. I am batting well in the nets.”
The team management is also repeating the same line in the press conference. However, if Rohit is unable to perform well in the remaining three innings, there is a possibility of him being dropped from the team, or he himself may retire from this format.
