Delhi: The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has taken a new decision between the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Now all Indian players of Mumbai have been made mandatory to play T20 Mumbai League. According to a report by Indian Express, Rohit Sharma has been made the face of this league.
If players like Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dubey, Prithvi Shaw and Shardul Thakur are not selected in the England Test team, then they will also have to play in this league.
There is no discount for Indian players
A MCA official said that “All the Indian players of Mumbai have been informed that they will have to play in the T20 Mumbai League. If a player has duty in Team India or he is injured, only then you will get a discount.”
Indian players playing in this league will be given a fee of Rs 15 lakh from the association. Apart from this, the players will also be auctioned, in which they will get separate money.
League can begin on 26 May
However, the dates have not been decided yet, but the possible date of the league is being reported between May 26 and June 5. MCA Secretary Abhay Hadp said, “The response for the third season of T20 Mumbai League has been tremendous. More than 2800 players have registered. It shows Mumbai’s cricket love.”
MCA believes that young players of Mumbai will get a big platform from such a league. Also, the presence of Indian star players will increase the glow of this tournament.
