Delhi: Playing in its first season for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2025, Quinton Dickock broke a historic record in the match against Rajasthan Royals. In the match played at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on 26 March, Dickock helped KKR to achieve the target of 152 runs easily with his unbeaten 97 -run innings.

Dickock scored 97 runs in 61 balls, including eight fours and six sixes. Although he could not reach a century, he played an important role in giving his team the first win of the season. He hit the winning six on Jofra Archer and won the KKR by eight wickets and achieved the target with 15 balls remaining. Dickock also received the “Player of the Match” award for his brilliant innings.

In the post match presentation, Dickock while talking about his innings said, “It was a good opportunity to bat after retiring from international cricket and I am happy that I redeemed it properly.” He also said that no challenge has been felt after retirement. “It was a three -month break, which was nice. Regarding joining the new team KKR, Dickock said, “It is nice to meet new people and stay in a new environment. It is necessary to make your place in the team. Sometimes the team adopts you later, but in KKR I have already been accepted with an open heart, which was very good.”

Talking about the wicket, Dickock said, “Today’s wicket was not such that we think of hitting a big score or big six. The ball was stopping and walking. It was a challenging wicket where we were only thinking about victory. If we got a better wicket, we would undoubtedly discuss NRR (NER Run Rate), but today it was necessary to win.”
