Delhi: Former Team India cricketer and commentator Akash Chopra has expressed doubts about the availability of Jaspreet Bumrah in the Asia Cup 2025. He said that if Bumrah does not play the Oval Test against England, then he is likely to play in the Asia Cup. However, Chopra believes that Team India can choose the same player he had launched in his last T20 series against England.

“Bumrah’s availability can become a question again. But if he does not play the fifth Test, I think he will be available for the Asia Cup. It will be interesting to see how the team is chosen, but I don’t think it will be very different from the previous T20 team”, Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

Chopra said, “I can almost guarantee that Mohammed Shami will not be in the Asia Cup team. He was fed just to do fitness tests and prepare for the Champions Trophy. Now that he is not a part of the Test team, I don’t think he will play T20 cricket.”
