Delhi: The England women’s cricket team suffered defeat in all seven matches in the multi-format Ashes series on the tour of Australia. After this disappointing performance, the team’s head coach John Lewis and captain Heather Knight resigned from their positions.

However, Australia’s veteran all -rounder Alice Parry is confident that England will make a new start in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup to be held in India this year under the leadership of new coach Charlotte Edwards.

Perry said in a conversation with Sky Sports, “If you look at the ability of the England team and the players present with them, then their best XI is a very powerful team. I do not have any doubt that they will be seen as a completely different team in this summer and then in the World Cup to be held in India.”

He further said, “It is a group of champions, and every team’s career comes when the performance falls slightly. But, that team has a lot of class, and it will be seen soon. I think it was a shock, not a long running problem. I am excited that Edwards will return them.”

Former England captain Charlotte Edwards won the team in 2009, ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup and T20 World Cup. He was also included in the ICC Hall of Fame in 2022. Now she will try to take England one step ahead of the runner -up (2022) runner -up in the World Cup to be held in India.

Both England and Australia have already qualified for the World Cup by finishing third and first in the ICC Women’s Championship of 2022-25.
