Delhi: Indian cricketer Sheldon Jackson has announced his retirement from white ball cricket. He was a part of the Saurashtra team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, during which he announced his retirement from cricket. Jackson performed brilliantly for Saurashtra in domestic cricket, but could never make a place in the Indian team. He had expressed his displeasure with the selectors for not being selected in India A and the Indian team.
Important contribution for Saurashtra
Sheldon Jackson has played a major role in the success of Saurashtra. He scored 7187 runs in 103 first class matches at an average of 46.36. These include 21 centuries and 39 half-centuries. In List A cricket, he scored 2792 runs in 86 matches at an average of 36.25, which included 9 centuries and 14 half-centuries. He also scored 1812 runs in T20 cricket, which included one century and 11 half-centuries. Jackson was also a part of Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL. He got a chance to play a total of 9 matches in IPL, in which he scored 61 runs at a strike rate of 107.01.
Amazing performance in Ranji Trophy
Jackson’s performance in the 2012-13 Ranji season was excellent. He scored three centuries and four half-centuries. He scored consecutive centuries in the quarter-finals and semi-finals and helped Saurashtra reach the Ranji final for the first time.

In 2019, Jackson criticized the selectors for not being included in the India A team. He expressed his displeasure on social media and questioned whether good performance in Ranji Trophy does not matter. Jackson played for India A only once.
