Delhi: Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has announced an ambitious plan to build India’s largest cricket stadium in Amaravati, which will set a new benchmark in cricket infrastructure. This stadium is proposed to have a seating capacity of 1.25 lakh spectators, which will surpass the current Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which is the largest stadium in India.
Stadium will be built on 60 acres
ACA President and Vijayawada MP Kesinaini Shivanath (Chinni) said that the association has demanded 60 acres of land from the Andhra Pradesh government to give shape to this project. This stadium will form a part of a larger sports city in Amravati, which will be spread over 200 acres and will aim to transform the city into a global sports hub.
“This stadium will not only revamp the cricket infrastructure in the country but will also put Amravati on the global sporting map,” Chinni said in a recent media interaction.

funds will be collected
For this huge project, ACA is planning to get financial assistance from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Besides, funds will also be collected at the local level so that this scheme can be completed on time.
Intention to organize National Games in 2029
As part of its broader vision of sports development, ACA intends to bid to host the 2029 National Games in Amravati. If successful, it would be an important milestone for Andhra Pradesh and would reflect the state’s growing importance in Indian sports.

focus on talent development
To promote local cricket talent, ACA has announced the establishment of three modern cricket academies in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada and Rayalaseema. These academies will be run by Indian cricket veterans Mithali Raj and Robin Singh, who will provide world-class training to young cricketers.

As part of the association’s broader infrastructure improvement efforts, ACA is also modernizing the Visakhapatnam Stadium. State-of-the-art facilities are being provided here, so that this stadium can become a major venue for Indian Premier League (IPL) matches.
More than 15 players will play from Andhra Pradesh
Chinni expressed confidence that at least 15 players from Andhra Pradesh will be seen playing in the IPL in the next two years, as the association has paid special attention to talent development and infrastructure improvement.
