Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Digvesh Rathi, young spinner of Lucknow Supergiants (LSG), is in a lot of discussion in these days due to his brilliant game and special “notebook celebrations”. But, behind this brightness, a story is hidden which is full of hard work, struggle and courage. Digvesh’s elder brother Sunny Rathi has removed the curtain from many unheard things of his life and told how his cricketing journey has been.

‘Lack of money and identity, but did not give up dream’

Digvesh’s elder brother Sunny Rathi told in an interview how his family was once on the verge of leaving Delhi, because there was no money. Sunny said, “We had neither money, nor any bigger knowing. But we did not give up. When people said leave Delhi, we thought, why do you run away?”

Inspiration received from Sunil Narayan

Digvesh was initially a batsman, but he did not get a chance to bat in the nets. Most of the good bowlers avoided bowling him. Then his brother Sunny himself bowled him for hours. However, there is also a limit to practice with the same bowler.

Digvesh started spin bowling due to lack of batting in the nets. Seeing the veteran West Indies veteran Sunil Narayan, he took inspiration from him and started bowling in the same way.

Explosion in DPL

Digvesh’s fate changed when former wicketkeeper Vijay Dahiya recognized his talent and trained in his academy. Then he caught everyone’s attention by taking 14 wickets while playing for South Delhi Superstar in the Delhi Premier League.

Identification in IPL

In IPL 2025, Lucknow Supergiants bought him for Rs 30 lakh and Digvesh No has impressed everyone with his calm and intelligent bowling spells. He showed that if the intentions are strong, then the difficult paths also reach the destination.
