Delhi: After India’s recent defeat in the Test series against New Zealand and Australia, BCCI has now decided to take strict measures. In a meeting held in Mumbai on Saturday, BCCI officials along with head coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma discussed the new guidelines for the players and coaching staff.
Consideration of new guidelines
BCCI is now planning to re-implement the pre-2019 rules. The relaxation given in these rules due to Covid-19 will be abolished. According to an official, an important issue came up in this meeting, in which it was suggested that the players would not be accompanied by their wives and family members for the entire tour. Staying with family, especially during foreign tours, can have a negative impact on the players’ performance.
New limit of living with family
According to the new guidelines, in tours of 45 days or longer, the player’s family will be allowed to stay with him only for 14 days. If the tour is short then this period will be limited to seven days. During the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, many players were in Australia the whole time with their wives and families.

importance of team unity
Apart from this, BCCI will now ensure that all players travel by team bus only. Recently it was seen that some players were traveling separately instead of the team bus. Now strict action will be taken on this, so that the unity of the team is maintained.
