The Indonesian couple gave their all, but ultimately, they fell short in straight sets with scores of 16-21 and 12-21, allowing the Chinese pair to claim the championship title.

On Sunday, the match, held in Copenhagen, Denmark, saw Apriyani and Fadia meeting Chen and Jia for the sixth time. Before this encounter, the Indonesian duo had a 1-4 disadvantage against their Chinese opponents in their previous five encounters.

In the opening set, Apriyani and Fadia made a promising start by securing the first two points. However, a misjudgment by Fadia resulted in a momentum shift in favor of the Chinese pair. Chen and Jia managed to level the score at 4-4 after winning a crucial rally.

Chen and Jia took the lead with an impressive four-point streak, but Apriyani's keen observation halted their momentum that a ball was out of bounds. At this juncture, Apriyani and Fadia were trailing at 5-6.

Despite their efforts, Apriyani and Fadia couldn't catch up to Chen and Jia's score until the first-game interval. Chen and Jia held an 11-6 advantage at the gap due to Apriyani's challenges in returning the shuttlecock.

After the interval, Apriyani and Fadia continued to battle for points, with occasional three-point runs, including one gained from a failed challenge by Chen and Jia. However, the Indonesian pair still found themselves trailing, and the game's control remained largely with their opponents.

Chen and Jia managed to reach the game point in the first set. Apriyani and Fadia fought hard and managed to steal some issues, but ultimately, they had to concede the first set to Chen and Jia with a score of 16-21.

Apriyani and Fadia continued to fight for points, but Chen and Jia maintained control of the game. At the second-set interval, the score stood at 11-6 in favor of Chen and Jia.

After the interval, Apriyani and Fadia continued their pursuit. They managed to narrow the gap, including a remarkable 33-shot rally that brought the score to 9-12. Chen and Jia managed to maintain their lead despite their efforts, while Apriyani and Fadia applied pressure, creating a spirited competition on the court.

A back-and-forth exchange of shots took place as Chen and Jia aimed to preserve their lead while Apriyani and Fadia fought tenaciously to catch up. In the end, Chen and Jia secured the second set with a score of 21-12, claiming the women's doubles title at the BWF World Championships 2023.
