So, if the latest media reports are to be believed then Arun Singh Dhumal can be elected unopposed as the Chairman of IPL Governing Council. Apart from this, Abhishek Dalmia will also continue in his role.
Let us tell you that in this upcoming meeting of BCCI, elections can be held for the chairman and the remaining two posts. So, for these vacant places, Dhumal and Dalmia have filed nominations for their respective posts. Also, if no other officer has presented candidature for these posts, then both can be elected unopposed.
So after the elections, Dhumal is likely to continue his role as IPL chairman for at least one more year. Under his leadership, the IPL Governing Council will be seen working on important issues like player retention rules and match fees in the coming months.
Election of new BCCI secretary is not included in the current agenda
Let us tell you that in this meeting of BCCI, there can be a discussion on the appointment of Jay Shah as the representative of BCCI in the International Cricket Council (ICC). It is noteworthy that recently it has been announced that Jai Shah will be made the chairman of the supreme body of cricket.
In such a situation, to work independently as ICC Chairman, Shah will have to be relieved of his role. Only after this will he be able to work in detail in his new role. So after Shah leaves his post in BCCI, there is a possibility of two candidates being appointed to his post.
