Delhi: Team India is playing T20 series against England these days, but in this series, star player Yashasvi Jaiswal was not included in the squad. Jaiswal was part of the T20 World Cup 2024 team. After this he played some matches against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, but remained out of the series against Bangladesh and South Africa. Now he has not been given a chance even against England.
Meanwhile, former Indian team’s veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has supported Yashasvi Jaiswal’s return to the T20 team. On his YouTube channel, Ashwin said that Jaiswal should return to the Indian T20 team as soon as possible.
He told that Jaiswal should be made the favorite opener of the team. Ashwin also said that if Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad perform well in the upcoming IPL, the selectors may find it difficult to select the right players.
Ashwin believes that the Indian team has no dearth of talented players. He stressed that the selectors should give priority to such players who can perform better under pressure, because only these players prove beneficial for the team in big tournaments.
Ashwin said that choosing the right players will be a big challenge for the selectors, especially when the team has so many good options.
