Delhi: A new controversy came to light in the fourth Test match being played between India and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. This controversy happened after the dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Yashasvi played a pull shot on Cummins’ bouncer and the ball reached the wicketkeeper’s hands. Australia appealed, but the umpire gave Yashasvi not out. But, after this Australia took a review and the third umpire gave Yashasvi out.

no movement on snico meter

The reason for the controversy was that during the review, when the ball passed near Yashasvi’s bat and gloves, no movement was seen on the snico meter. Despite this, the third umpire changed the decision of the on-field umpire and gave Yashasvi out. The Indian spectators present on the ground were surprised by this decision and they started creating ruckus. Some spectators were also seen booing Australia and showing “Shame” boards. Some people said that the umpire was cheating and had not given the right decision.

Yashasvi’s disappointment and anger

Yashasvi was very disappointed with this decision and expressed his views with the on-field umpire. During this time he was looking angry and very sad. This decision deprived him of a century, even though he had scored 84 runs in 118 balls.

Wrong decision of the third umpire

This is not the first time that the third umpire has given a wrong decision. Same thing happened with KL Rahul in the first test match also. Rahul was given not out by the on-field umpire, but Australia took a review. There was no concrete evidence in the Snico meter, but still the third umpire gave Rahul out.
