Delhi: Veteran batsman Virat Kohli continues to get caught in the slips on balls going outside the off-stump, which is exposing his weakness. Something similar was seen in the Adelaide Test also. This time fast bowler Mitchell Starc targeted Kohli’s weakness, and the right-handed batsman was caught in the slip by Steve Smith after scoring 7 runs. After getting out, Kohli’s facial expressions reflected his deep disappointment.

An extra bounced ball from Starc proved fatal for Kohli. This ball was on a length close to the off stump and Kohli was trying to leave it, but could not remove the bat at the right time, due to which the ball touched his bat and went straight into the hands of Steve Smith. Smith gave a big blow to India by taking an easy catch.

Virat got confused between playing and leaving the ball. He thought that the ball would come in after hitting the pitch, but it went out. This confusion became heavy for Kohli.

Big changes in the team

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first in the Pink Ball Test against Australia. India made three changes in the playing eleven, in which Rohit Sharma, Shubhman Gill and Ravichandran Ashwin returned. Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel and Washington Sundar have been left out of the team, on the other hand, Australia has included Scott Boland in the team in place of injured Josh Hazlewood. India has taken a 1-0 lead in the series by winning the first test in Perth by 295 runs.
