Delhi: Brad Hadin, former Australian wicketkeeper batsman and assistant coach of Punjab Kings (PBKS), believes that India’s great batsman Virat Kohli has made the biggest impact in Test cricket and this format will miss him a lot.
Hadin said in a special conversation with the Times of India, “The passion to combat Kohli was amazing. He was a once -visiting player in a generation who changed the game not only with his game but also with his fitness.”
He added, “Australian players were attracted to Kohli’s spirit that he used to show in big matches, when he used to land against strong teams like Australia, South Africa or England, his best performance would come out.”
The former wicketkeeper said, “Test cricket will miss a lot of Kohli. I believe this was the format in which he had the most impact.”
Significantly, some time ago Virat Kohli surprised the cricket world by retiring from the Test format.
‘Shreyas Iyer is a sensitive captain’
Hadin, associated with Punjab Kings from 2022, also praised captain Shreyas Iyer. He said, “The thing that affects me the most is Iyer’s concern for his players. He gives a very clear message and adopts those habits themselves. Players respect him very much.”
