Delhi: Before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Australian cricket team seems to be surrounded in difficulties. Five players of the team including Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc have already been out, and now star spinner Matthew Paul Kuhnemanman bowling Action has been questioned.
Kuhnemanman was part of Australia in the recently played against Sri Lanka, where he took the most 16 wickets in two matches. However, now his bowling action has been doubted, due to which he will have to go through a mandatory test. According to a cricbage report, they have to complete this test within the next three weeks, in which a biomacionist (experts studying the speed of living things) will analyze their action and the results will be reported to the ICC.
According to the ICC rules, the bowler is allowed to bend a maximum of 15 degrees, until Kuhnemans pass this test successfully, he will not be able to bowl in international cricket. Although, They of Australia Bowling will be allowed in the domestic Sheffield Shield competition.
An Australian team official informed that after the second Test played in Galle, the match officials had reported the suspicious action of Kuhnemannman. He said, “We will fully support Matthew Kuhnemann in this matter.”
He further said that since his debut in 2017, Kuhnemann has played 124 professional matches so far, including five Tests and four ODIs. Apart from this, he has played 55 matches of Big Bash League since 2018. For the first time in the last eight years, his action has been considered suspicious.
Cricket Australia (CA) will work closely with the ICC and independent experts in the matter, until the investigation is completed, no official statement will be made by Cricket Australia or Matthew Kuhnemann.
