Australia makes history in Champions Trophy: first team to achieve the feat

Delhi: Under the captaincy of Steve Smith in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 (ICC Champions Trophy), Australia won one of the three matches in the group stage, while two matches were canceled due to rain. Due to this, the Kangaroo team confirmed the semi -finals with 4 points. In their first match, Australia defeated England in a thrilling manner, while the team got 1–1 points due to cancellation against South Africa and Afghanistan.

In the match against Afghanistan played in Lahore, the Kangaroo team set a historic record. Afghanistan, batting first, scored 273 runs in 50 overs. In response to this, Australia scored 109 runs in 12.5 overs on the basis of a banging batting of Travis Head, when the game was stopped due to rain. The special thing is that in the first 10 overs, Australia had scored 90 runs at the loss of only one wicket, which is the biggest score ever made in the first 10 overs in the Champions Trophy history.

Earlier this record was in the name of Sri Lanka, which scored 87 runs for one wicket in the first 10 overs against South Africa in 2017.
