Delhi: Bangladesh Cricket Board has made Litton Das the new captain of its T20 team. He will take over the team in the upcoming series against UAE and Pakistan. Litton Das has been named captain in place of Najmul Hussain Shunto, who left the post earlier this year. At the same time, Maheedi Hasan has been made vice -captain.
Bangladesh has called Tauheed Hriday, Tanveer Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam back to the team in their 16 -member team. These players have been included in the team in place of Afif Hussain, Mehdi Hasan Miraj, Ripon Mandal and Taskin Ahmed. Shunto has also been kept in the team.
Das has captained before
In the absence of Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das won the 3–0 series against the West Indies. Das has a good captaincy experience. He has captained the team in one Test, seven ODIs and four T20 matches so far.
30 -year -old Linton Das recently dropped from Karachi Kings team in PSL 2025, as he suffered a finger injury during practice. Now he is fit and is ready to lead the Bangladesh team.
Bangladesh schedule
The next schedule of Bangladesh will start from two T20 matches against the UAE, which will be played in Sharjah on 17 and 19 May. After this, the team will go on a tour of Pakistan where there will be a five -match T20 series from 25 May to 3 June. The first two matches of this series will be held at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad and the remaining three matches will be played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. These matches are part of the preparation of the T20 World Cup to be held in 2026 for Bangladesh, which will be jointly played in India and Sri Lanka.
