Delhi: After the Champions Trophy, BCCI has issued some strict guidelines for the IPL 2025. Under these rules, players and family members of support staff will not be allowed to enter the field (PMOA) during the matches and the first player and match officials. This rule completely banns the access of the dressing room, even during the practice sessions. This rule will be implemented even more strictly during the match days.

Use of team simply mandatory

BCCI has implemented another important rule, under which it will be mandatory for all the players to use only the team. This rule matches the strict protocol implemented in the international matches of the Indian team. All the IPL teams have been sent via an email, and a meeting was also held with the team managers on 18 February to ensure it.

New guidelines during practice

Only certified staff will be allowed to enter the dressing room and ground during practice (before and during the tournament). Family members and friends of the players will travel in separate vehicles and will observe the practice from the hospitality sector. In addition, if an assistant staff (eg the throdow specialist/net bowler) is to be obtained, its list will have to be submitted to BCCI, and once approved, they will get non-match day access.

Strict rules during match day

BCCI has also implemented some strict rules for the match day:

  1. The staff associated with PMOA will have to bring their recognition to the magazine. The lapse will be warned for the first time, and the second time a fine will be imposed.
  2. Players will have to wear orange and purple cap during the match, and it will be mandatory to wear it for at least two overs.
  3. Wearing floppy and sleeveless jerseys will not be allowed during the post match presentation. A fine will be taken for not doing so.

New guidelines on fitness testing and practice

BCCI has also decided that fitness tests will not be done on the main pitch during the match days. As before, the team’s physiotherapists will no longer be allowed to test the fitness of the players using the central track.

Other important instructions

  1. If there is any change in the jersey number of the players, then it will have to be informed 24 hours in advance.
  2. No team can use additional nets during practice. If one team finishes their practice quickly, then the other team will not be allowed to practice there.
  3. Only 12 certified assistant staff will be allowed during the match days, which will also include team doctors.

Basic Sops and Processes

  1. During the practice, teams will be allowed to allow 2 nets and one side wicket, so that players can do the range of hitting.
  2. If both teams practice together in Mumbai, each team will get 2 wickets.
  3. There will be no practice during the match days, and fitness tests will not be done on the main pitch.

These guidelines issued by BCCI aims to operate IPL 2025 in a better and systematic manner, so that there is no obstruction in the safety and operation of all players and teams.
