Delhi: In view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially suspended the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for a week. After this decision, many types of rumors are going on when the tournament will start again and whether BCCI will be able to complete it on time or not.
BCCI will soon take decision on IPL 2025
But, according to a new cricbz report, BCCI is trying to resume the tournament in the month of May itself. The next three days are considered very important in this matter.
Talking to Cricbuz on May 9, a BCCI official said, “We have stopped the tournament for a week at the moment. Right now we are not planning ahead of it. M We are completely serious about it. Keep an eye on the next three days.”
According to the report, if the situation is normal in the next few days or there is a ceasefire, then the schedule of BCCI IPL can move faster. The number of double header (two matches) can be increased in it.
Availability of foreign players is a matter of concern
The availability of foreign players can become a major challenge when the IPL resumes. Many players have already returned to their country or are going to return. On this, BCCI has said that the decision will be left on the franchise of how they handle it.
August and September hard months for IPL
The BCCI does not want to cancel the Bangladesh series to be held in August as England’s ‘The Hundred’ League will also run at that time and 9 English players in the IPL are associated with it. At the same time, if the IPL is done in September, then it will hit the Caribbean Premier League. Right now 8 West Indies players are also playing in the IPL.
Therefore, the focus of BCCI is that if the situation is fine, then the IPL should be resumed in the month of May itself.
