Delhi: Ever since the impact player rules have come in the IPL, there are constant discussions about it. Many veterans have objected to this rule, while some have justified it. Now in the IPL 2025 season, Rajasthan Royals had to face defeat in two consecutive matches, while the team’s head coach Rahul Dravid expressed his opinion on this rule.
What did Rahul Dravid say?
Before the match against Chennai Super Kings on March 30, Rahul Dravid spoke about the Impact Player Rules. He said, “Our batting is depth, which we can increase to number 8 using Hasranga. Apart from this, Shimron Hetmire also comes on number 8 and then we also have Jofra Archer. This makes our batting lineup strong.”
Dravid further said, “Since the introduction of this rule, I think the role of all -rounder has reduced considerably. Now compared to earlier, teams do not need the all -rounder as before. The same change is now clearly visible in the team combination.”
Rajasthan Royals poor start
Rajasthan Royals have not started well in IPL 2025. In the first match, Rajasthan lost against Sunrisers Hyderabad, while in the second match he was defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders. Now in the third match, Rajasthan Royals will land on the ground of Guwahati to register their first win against Chennai Super Kings.
