Delhi: Mohammad Kaif believes that Jasprit Bumrah should not be made the captain of the Indian cricket team after Rohit Sharma. He says that a batsman would be better for this role. There was speculation going on for several days as to who would be the contender for captaincy after Rohit Sharma, in which Bumrah’s name was also in discussion. But, Kaif believes that giving this responsibility to Bumrah can increase the pressure on him and affect his performance.
Kaif said on YouTube, “It would not be right to make Jasprit Bumrah the captain in future. He gives his life for the team and lives under great pressure. He gets little or no support, which also increases his injuries, like what happened in the Sydney Test, this is not the first time he has been injured.”
Appeal to BCCI
BCCI shd think twice before appointing Bumrah as full time captain. He needs to solely focus on taking wkts and staying fit.Added leadership responsibility, getting carried away in heat of moment can result in injuries and shorten an outstanding career.Don’t kill the golden goose.

Kaif tweeted, “BCCI should think twice before appointing Bumrah as full-time captain. He just needs to focus on taking wickets and staying fit. Extra leadership responsibilities, getting carried away in the heat of the moment, can lead to injury and a brilliant career can be cut short. “Don’t kill the golden hen.”
Kaif further said, “I do not believe that Bumrah should be made the captain. In my opinion a batsman should become the captain, like Rishabh Pant or KL Rahul. Rishabh and KL have captained in the IPL, so either one of them can be a good option.
