Delhi: Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene gave an update on Jasprit Bumrah’s injury before the match against Gujarat Titans on Saturday. He said that Bumrah is recovering properly, but there is no correct estimate of his playing date in the IPL 2025 season. Bumrah is currently going through his rehab process in BCCI’s Center of Excellence (National Cricket Academy) in Bangalore.

Talking about Bumrah, Jayawardene said, “He is going through his daily rehab process. Everything seems right so far, but no timeline has been given by NCA, so we will wait about it.”
Bumrah’s return time
31 -year -old Bumrah is expected to return to the Mumbai Indians team around April. Without Bumrah, Trent Bolt and Deepak Chahar are handling the responsibility of fast bowling. Apart from this, Mumbai Indians also made a debut by fast bowler Satyanarayan Raju during the season opener in the absence of captain Hardik Pandya.
Hardik Pandya’s return
On returning after the suspension of a match of Pandya, Jayawardene said, “This is just a game of cricket. Fans’ feelings are part of it and I am sure that everything has been left behind now.”
He further said, “Lawy and everything in IPL works in a very interesting way and I love to see it from outside. After a year, Pandya has achieved a lot and I am sure that people have now left behind the events last year. We can all enjoy a good cricket match.”
