Delhi: Former wicketkeeper batsman of Pakistan cricket team Moin Khan has advocated to resume bilateral series between India and Pakistan. He made this statement on Sunday before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to be held in Dubai between India and Pakistan. Apart from this, 53 -year -old Moin Khan described India’s decision not to come to Pakistan disappointing.

He said, “It is unfortunate that the Indian team is not coming to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, when other top teams are coming to Pakistan for this tournament, then why not India?”

Moin also said that Pakistani fans Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumrah and Rishabh Pant were excited to see the players like Lahore and Karachi live in Lahore and Karachi, but it could not be possible due to India not coming.

Significantly, India has not visited Pakistan since 2008. The last time in 2012-13, both teams played a bilateral series in India, after which they have come face to face only in events like ICC and Asia Cup. However, Pakistan visited India for the 2016 T20 World Cup and 2023 ODI World Cup.

Moin Khan believes that cricket can play an important role in improving the relations between the two countries. He said, “Indian and Pakistani players also share the best harmony with each other outside the field. We have spent many memorable moments together. I think the boards (BCCI and PCB) of the two countries should work together so that India-Pakistan bilateral cricket can be resumed. ”
