Delhi: England’s explosive wicketkeeper batsman Jose Butler has made a big achievement in T20 international cricket. He has finished fourth in the list of batsmen who scored the most runs in T20I. He achieved this record in the second match of the three -match series against the West Indies, which was played at Bristol’s County Ground on Sunday.
Chasing the target of 197 runs, Butler played an important innings of 47 runs for England. He shared a 63 -run partnership with Ben Docket and then added 40 runs with Harry Brook. Thanks to this innings, Butler overtook Ireland veteran batsman Paul Sterling in terms of run.
Butler has now scored 3,678 runs in T20I, which he has scored in 125 innings of 136 matches. His batting average is 36.41. On the other hand, Paul Sterling has scored 3,656 runs in 150 matches and has an average of 26.88.
Now there are only three veteran batsmen ahead of Butler in T20I cricket, Rohit Sharma (4,231 runs) of India, Babar Azam (4,223 runs) of Pakistan and Virat Kohli (4,188 runs) of India.
If Jose Butler continues to bat in this rhythm, he can soon cross the 4,000 -run mark and join the race to become T20I’s top scorer.
