What do rules say?
Gill may have violated Article 2.8 of the IPL code of conduct. This code is related to disagreement on the umpire’s decision. Article 2.8 includes the following conditions:
(A) excessive, clear disappointment towards the umpire’s decision; (B) Apparent delay in re -starting the game or leaving wickets; (C) shaking head; (D) When LBW out is given, pointing or looking at the inside edge; (E) pointing to the pad or rubbing the shoulder when catching back; (F) snatching the cap from the umpire; (G) requesting referral to the TV umpire (except for verified request may allow to do so in the match); (H) Debating about his decision from the umpire or joining the discussion for a long time.
What will it look like over Gill?
(i) Level 1 offense – a fine of up to 25 percent of warning or match fees, and a demerit point; Or 26-50 percent fine and two demerit points;
(ii) Level 2 crime-a suspension point or 50–100 percent fine of match fees, and three demerit points; Or two suspension points and four demerit points.
