Delhi: Rohit Sharma, the ODI captain of the Indian cricket team, is known for his aggressive game on the field, but outside the field he is considered a very calm and easy -to -nature person. His aspect once again surfaced when cricket content creator and presenter Tanay Tiwari shared an old anecdote with him.
Tanay Tiwari praised Rohit
Tanay Tiwari, who is a well-known presenter today and has been a part of the coverage of the IPL and Indian team, he said an incident on the podcast of Ranveer Alhabadia when he was an intern with Mumbai Indians (Mi) in 2017.
Tanay said, “I was interviewing Rohit Sharma and the table was very small. The camera was also to be set and everything was happening in a hurry. Meanwhile, in the meantime, I accidentally fell on Rohit Sharma.”
She further said, “At that time a female member of her team scolded me a lot. I was just 21 years old and I thought my career is over now. I was about to cry.”
However, Rohit Sharma encouraged him instead of scolding Tanay. Rohit said, “Let it go, man, you are a child. Ask questions, only coffee has fallen. Don’t worry.” In that moment, Rohit not only ignored a mistake but also saved Tanay’s confidence.
Today, Tanay Tiwari has about 5 lakh followers on Instagram and he has worked on big platforms like Jio-Hotstar. He believes that if Rohit had not supported him that day, his journey would have ended there.
Tanay told, “I told Rohit Bhaiya many times that what you did that day was very big for me. You do not know how many people you have given happiness.” On this, Rohit smiled and said, “Hey man, aaja dar,” and hugged.
