Delhi: In international cricket, Pakistan cricket has received a great news amid poor performance. Mohsin Naqvi, president of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has been made the new president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Earlier, the post was with Jai Shah, Secretary, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), who replaced Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Najmul Hasan in 2021. Now the responsibility of this important post has come to Mohsin.

Naqvi has become the President of ACC at a time when the Asia Cup is going to host 2025 to India. This tournament will be played in T20 format and 6 teams will participate in it, including Pakistan. However, Pakistan’s team can refuse to play in India. Recently, India refused to go to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and played their matches in Dubai. Now Pakistan can also follow this path, and in this decision, the leadership of ACC with Pakistan can increase the difficulties for India.

At the same time, former Pakistan wicketkeeper batsman Kamran Akmal has opens a front against Naqvi and demanded the resignation from the post of PCB president. Akmal said, “It is shameful. If PCB chairman cannot run cricket properly, they should resign. Do not waste your reputation. If you want to remain in office, then at least improve the condition of the team.”

His statement came after the disappointing performance of Pakistan cricket team. Recently, on New Zealand tour, Pakistan suffered a 4–1 defeat in the T20 series, while the team has lost 2-0 in the ODI series. Now the thing to see will be whether Mohsin Naqvi will be able to improve the cricket relations between India and Pakistan after becoming the president of ACC.
