Delhi: The final match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played between India and New Zealand in Dubai on 9 March. India defeated Australia in the semi -finals, while New Zealand defeated South Africa and made it to the finals. With this victory, the hosting of Pakistan also ended.
Now the question is that if it rains during this important match, then who will be the champion? According to ICC rules, some special provisions have been made in this situation.
What will be the rules if it rains?
- Provision of Reserve Day – If the match is not completed due to rain, then the next day will start from where the game stopped.
- Minimum 25 overs required – To get the result, both teams will have to play at least 25-25 overs. If the match remains incomplete, the result will be drawn under the DLS (Duckworth-Luice-Sturn) rule.
- Super over on tie – If the match is tied, the super over will be played.
- When it rained on both days, the joint winner – If the match is not done on Reserve Day and no result is found, then India and New Zealand will be declared joint winners.
Although the possibility of rain in Dubai is very low, but if this happens then these rules will be applicable. Now it has to be seen which team wins the Champions Trophy title on 9 March.
