Champions Trophy: Bangladesh Cricket, struggling with inexperience, set to challenge big teams.

Jaipur: After the World Cup in 50-50 overs, the most prestigious trophy Champions Trophy of cricket is going to start from February 19. All the teams have geared up to perform well in it. Bangladesh is also the Asian team involved in the Champions Trophy. Bangladesh’s large connection is connected to the Champions Trophy. Actually, the first edition of the Champions Trophy was held in Bangladesh in 1998. However, Bangladesh’s fate was so bad that the team was hosting it but could not qualify for playing in it. In the 9th edition, the team is entering the ODI with its poor performance. At the same time, most of the young players will be seen in Bangladesh team due to many experienced players being out of the team.

Talking about performance in the year 2024, Bangladesh has played a total of 9 ODIs. However, the team has won only 3 matches and Bangladesh has to face defeat in 6 matches.

Players like Iqbal, Hasan are lacking

In white ball cricket, the face of Bangladesh cricket has changed completely in the last 5-7 years. Earlier, stars like Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan used to have the ability to remove the team from every situation, but now they have been replaced by the youth, who do not have much experience yet. Talking about the current team, the team has players like Najmul Hasan Shanto, Mehdi Hasan Miraj and Taskin Ahmed as captain. However, the team still has experienced players in the form of Mahmuddullah and Mushfiqur Rahim. But if we look at the current team, it will seem that in the name of experience in the team, there has been an infection. The team does not have any specialist player who can cross the team’s new on their own.

Expectation of better performance against big teams in the group

Bangladesh has bowlers like MistFizur Rahman and Nahid Rana in the fast bowling attack, but both have been running out of forms for some time. Bangladesh’s first match in the Champions Trophy will be with the Indian team in Dubai on 20 February, the second with New Zealand in Rawalpindi on 24 February and the last group match will be with host Pakistan on 27 February.

Only 2 out of 12 wins in Champions Trophy

Talking about the Bangladeshi performance so far in the Champions Trophy, Bangladesh has played a total of 12 matches in the Champions Trophy, out of which it has won only two matches. In 2006, Jaipur won against Zimbabwe and the second win against New Zealand in Cardiff in 2017. At the same time, the team has been defeated in both ODI series against West Indies and Afghanistan.
