Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) mentor Dinesh Karthik has praised the team captain Rajat Patidar. Karthik believes that even after becoming a captain, Patidar has not made any change in his behavior. Before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, RCB surprised everyone by making Patidar captain. This is the first time the Patidars are captaining an IPL team. Prior to this, he has also taken Madhya Pradesh to the final of 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy under his captaincy.
Karthik praised Patidar
In the second episode of RCB’s ‘Journey to the Finale’ series, Dinesh Karthik said, “Rajat Patidar has been a big I-opener for me. Usually, when someone suddenly gets a praise or power, his behavior changes. But, the silver are the same as before. Whether he was a way of conversation or something else, he has not changed himself. But they have the same humanity and simplicity in them. “
RCB performed brilliantly against Punjab Kings and won by eight wickets and made it to the IPL final after nine years. Punjab Kings were dismissed for 101 runs in 14.1 overs. After this, with the help of Phil Salat’s tremendous innings, RCB achieved the target in just 10 overs.
RCB cricket director also appreciated
RCB cricket director Mo Bobat also praised the calm and colleague leadership of Rajat Patidar. He said, “The best thing about Rajat Patidar is that he remains very calm. He made full use of fellow players, whether the vice-captain Jitesh or senior player Virat Kohli, Krunal Pandya or Josh Hazlewood.”
Bobat further said, “We have shown a good game in this season continuously. We played well by going to some difficult places. Initially, winning in places like Chennai and Mumbai away from home was going to increase confidence for the players. Initially there was a little struggle at home, but when we understood how to win in our house, it increased the confidence of all the players and the team performed better.”
