Delhi: CEO Kasi Vishwanathan of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has reacted to the team’s poor performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He admitted that this season the team is not performing as expected, but at the same time expressed confidence that the team led by Dhoni will return soon. Currently, CSK has lost six out of its first eight matches and is 10th in the table.
Naturally
During an event in Chennai, Vishwanathan said, “This year you will all be disappointed with the CSK performance, which is natural. We have seen such situations before. We know that we are not playing good cricket right now, but hopefully we will do better in the coming matches.”
Expressed trust in players
He further said that talented players like Shivam Dubey are present in the team, who are constantly doing well. At the same time, he said that when the command of the team is in the hands of ‘Thala’ i.e. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, then return is just a matter of time.
Believed for the return of 2010
Kasi Vishwanathan also recalled the 2010 season when CSK won only two out of the first seven matches, but later made a strong comeback and won the title. He said, “We remember the year of 2010. We lost five consecutive matches but still won the title. I am confident that our player and the whole team are committed and we will perform better in the coming matches.”
Next match with Hyderabad
Chennai Super Kings will now play their next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on 25 April. In this match, the team is in dire need to return so that the hopes of the playoffs can remain alive.
