Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) has not been very special in 2025 Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The team started their campaign with a victory against Mumbai Indians (Mi), but after that their performance has fallen continuously.
In the four matches played so far, five -time champion CSK has lost in three, while only one match has won. However, despite this average performance of the team, Ambati Rayudu, former Indian cricketer and playing for CSK, has supported the team and expressed confidence that the team will return soon.
Talking at ESPNcricinfo’s T20 timeout show, Rayudu said, “People are comparing this existing CSK team to teams that have won the tournament, when you compare the player by players, then it is obviously not the same. This team is not the same. This special player is not easy to reply to someone.
He further said, “I think CSK is looking a bit shocked about the team combination and this is the root of their troubles. Some players expected the team to perform on a special position, but they could not do so. In such a situation, it has become more difficult for them to make a place in the tournament, but I am confident that as soon as the team will take the right combination and players, the performance will be seen.
After three consecutive defeats, Chennai Super Kings will now face Punjab Kings (PBKS). The match will be played on 8 April at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur. This will be the 22nd match of the tournament, in which both teams will try to return to the victory track.
