Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is now in its last phase and with this discussions about the tour of England have also intensified. India has to play a Test series against England from June 20. This time the team is commanded by young batsman Shubman Gill. For this, now former veterans have started giving their opinion.
Cheteshwar Pujara gave opinion to Shubhaman
Cheteshwar Pujara, who has played 16 Tests in England, has expressed his opinion on the Indian batting order. He also told what Shubman Gill should take care of as captain.
In a TV program, Pujara said, “According to me, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal should easily get a place in the top order. Both these batsmen have also opened in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.”
Pujara further said, “If Shubman Gill plays at number 3, Karun Nair should get a chance at number 4. Karun has recently performed well in domestic cricket. But if Gill batting at number 4, then Abhimanyu Ishwar or Sai Sudarshan can be seen for number 3.”
England tour will be visited for Gill
Pujara advised Shubman Gill, “This series will be a big challenge for Gill. It is not easy to play with a new ball in England. Bowlers get a lot of help in the beginning 25-30 overs. In such a situation, they will have to play shots carefully. When the ball is old, the batter gets a chance to play.”
