Delhi: India’s assistant coach Abhishek Nair has praised the wisdom and dedication of the team’s senior players Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin. In the first Test, both players were out due to team combination, but despite this they fully supported the team’s strategy.

Jadeja- Ashwin understand the team’s plan

“When you have experienced players like Jadeja and Ashwin, who understand the team’s plans, it becomes easier to take decisions,” Nair said in the press conference.

He also talked about the role of spinners in the upcoming pink ball Test, which begins on December 6. Nair said that the team’s strategy will change according to the circumstances and no player has been ignored. He said, “Spinners also have an important role with the pink ball. No player is out of the game.”

India will play a practice match against Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra before the second Test, which will be a good opportunity to test their strategy. The decision to drop Ashwin and Jadeja in the Perth Test was shocking. But, it proved effective. India defeated Australia by 295 runs in that match. India’s only spinner in the match, Washington Sundar, took two wickets in the fourth innings, which contributed to the team’s victory.
