Delhi: Shortly before, the schedule of the Indian team’s tour of Bangladesh was released, and now the Anti -Corruption Commission (NCC) has started the enforcement campaign (implementing any rule or law) at the Sher -e -Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. The action was taken at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) headquarters, where a three -member team led by Assistant Director Al Amin started an investigation on the basis of specific complaints.
After examining various departments for about one and a half hours, Al Amin informed the media that the Commission is currently investigating three different allegations. According to the report of Cricbuzz, this investigation focuses on allegations of corruption in the selection process of several cricket leagues conducted under BCB.
Al Amin informed about two more serious allegations, first, revenue related to ticket sales in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and second, financial embezzlement during the Mujib Shatabdi celebrations (in a trusted position of someone, misuse money or property for their personal benefit).
He informed that the Third Division Qualifying League has been held again after about a decade. In 2014-15, the entry fees were increased from 75,000 taka to 5 lakhs, there was a huge decline in the participation of the teams. This time the fees were reduced to 1 lakh and the conditions were also softened, due to which 60 teams took part. Now it is being investigated whether any person was responsible for increasing fees and declining the number of teams earlier.
In terms of ticket sales, Al Amin said that the first ticket sales were entrusted to the third party, which gave the BCB a part. However, the BCB itself is selling tickets for the last three-four seasons. During this time, there is a sudden bounce in revenue. In a season itself, 13 crore 25 lakh Taka was earned, while in eight years a total of 15 million Taka was earned.
Significantly, the Indian team will visit Bangladesh in August, where a series of three T20 and three ODIs will be played between the two countries. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the entire schedule of this tour on Tuesday.
