Delhi: Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been banned for a match, due to which Suryakumar Yadav will take over the captaincy of the team in his absence. The first match of Mumbai Indians will be played against Chennai Super Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday. Before this match, Suryakumar Yadav interacted with the media and answered questions asked on former CSK captain MS Dhoni.
Suryakumar’s funny answer
In a press conference held in Chennai before the match, Suryakumar Yadav was asked in a funny way how he would handle ‘Uncapted’ MS Dhoni. On this, Suryakumar made some mistake in understanding the first question and asked, “Who has to control?” When the journalist again clarified the question, Suryakumar laughed and said in a funny way, “Has anyone been able to control Dhoni in so many years?”
Surya further said, “When you come to Chennai and see Dhoni coming out of the dressing room, that moment is always special. We have learned a lot from them and whenever we get a chance, we talk to them. It will be a challenge to captain him and I am very excited for this match.”

Why Dhoni got ‘unaccapped’ status?
Dhoni will play as a ‘unaccounted’ player in IPL 2025. BCCI has recently implemented a rule back, under which if a player has not participated in international cricket for the last five years, he will be placed in the ‘unaccounted’ category. The former Indian captain played his last international match in the semi -finals of the 2019 World Cup and announced retirement a year later.
