Delhi: In the quarter-final match of Ranji Trophy 2024-25, Haryana team gave a big blow to defending champion Mumbai in the beginning. But, Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian barely removed the team, batting brilliantly. In this match being played at Eden Gardens Stadium, Kolkata, Mumbai won the toss and decided to bat first.
Mumbai’s poor start
Mumbai started very poorly. Haryana fast bowler Anshul Kamboj bowled Ayush Mhatre on the very first ball. After this, Sumit Kumar dismissed Akash Anand (10), while Kamboj also bowled Siddhesh Lad (4). Mumbai star batsman Suryakumar Yadav could not do anything special and he was bowled by scoring only 9 runs. In this way, Mumbai lost their four wickets on the score of 25 runs.
Rahane and Dubey take over
Captain Ajinkya Rahane (31) and Shivam Dubey (28) together added 40 runs for the fifth wicket and tried to handle the team. But, Jayant Yadav dismissed Dubey and broke this partnership. After a while, Anshul Kamboj also caught Rahane behind the wicket. In this way, Mumbai scored six wickets at 94.
