Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 can be canceled due to increasing tension on the border between India and Pakistan. According to sources, the BCCI has called an emergency meeting immediately, taking this situation seriously. There is a possibility that the entire tournament may be postponed or canceled.
Security of foreign players is the first priority
The main focus of BCCI is on the safety of foreign players. The board does not want to take any kind of risk and preparations are being made to send foreign players to their country on priority basis. In view of the security situation, the BCCI is taking full vigilance.
Punjab vs Delhi match already canceled
Earlier on May 8, the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala was canceled due to security reasons. As soon as the news of Pakistan’s attack came in Jammu and Jaisalmer after the technical fault of rain and floodlight, the match was immediately stopped and later officially canceled.
Special train to bring players to Delhi
The BCCI has made special arrangements to bring the players and staff stranded in Dharamshala to Delhi. Vande Bharat Express train has been sent to Dharamshala, so that players and associate staff can be brought to the capital on priority basis.
Waiting for further information
At present, more updates are being awaited on this matter. The BCCI may soon take a final decision regarding the tournament.
