Delhi: In IPL 2025, Delhi Capitals (DC) started their campaign vigorously, but in the end the team’s performance was quite disappointing. After losing 4 of her last 6 matches, DC finished fifth in the points table and was out of the playoff race.
Why did Natarajan not get a chance?
DC bought T. Natarajan in the auction for Rs 10.75 crore, which hoped that they would get a place in the team regularly. But Natarajan got to play only two matches throughout the season. The special thing is that he bowled in just one match, in which he took 49 runs in three overs against Gujarat Titans.
Coach Hemang Badani told the reason for not playing
Hemang Badani, coach of Delhi Capitals, who is currently commenting in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), said a big thing about Natarajan. He told that the fast bowlers were not fully fit and the whole season was troubled by injury. Badani said, “We bought them for 11 crores because we needed them, especially in the middle and death overs. But unfortunately, due to injury, he could not stay fit the whole season, which is why he was not included in the playing XI.”
Great performance in last season
T. Natarajan started the IPL career with Kings XI Punjab in 2017. He then joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2020 and he bowled brilliantly there. Especially in IPL 2024, he proved his utility by taking 19 wickets in 14 matches.
Career is full of injuries
Although Natarajan is a great death over specialist and his yorker bowling is a special identity, but injuries have greatly impressed his career. Due to fitness problems, he has missed many matches and this is the reason why it was seen in IPL 2025 as well.
